From the street, this house maintains its single-storey Federation period facade. Moving past the original formal entry and front rooms, the old house is reinvented with its rear rooms now opened up to add space and northerly sunshine into new living areas and upper level bedrooms. The house responds to the gently sloping site as it steps down towards the rear courtyard. Internally and externally, it presents a traditional, yet timeless aesthetic in response to the client brief and council conditions relating to the adjacent heritage dwelling.
