A contemporary upper level addition was inserted above an elevated semi-detached dwelling. The design was conceived as a simple, tapering box to maintain required height limits and thereby minimise the impact on adjacent land. Ground level bedrooms were retained whilst rear living areas were opened up increasing their connection with the garden and maximising natural light indoors. The new addition accommodates a master bedroom retreat including study, ensuite and a balcony taking in the views over parkland.
